1.Description
Phytosterol is a steroid compound, refined from rice bran sterol. The main constituents include β-sitosterol (C29H50O, 414.69), stigmasterol (C29H48O, 412.70), campesterol (C28H48O, 400.66)and brassicasterol (C28H46O, 398.67). The β-sitosterol is the most common phytosterol. Phytosterol is a natural plant derived extract and nontoxic.

4.Function and Use :
The total amount of sterols is not less than 95% and 4-demethylsterols is not less than 60%. Phytosterols also include 4-methyl sterols and 4,4-dimethyl sterols (triterpene alcohol), etc. So it has medicinal value and health function. Similar to the rice bran sterol, phytosterol can prevent the growth of periodontal bacteria and gum bleeding to improve the dental health.
